Well, let's face it, certain people *already* charge arms and legs for
their software. If that software was actually good quality, I wouldn't
mind the price so much...

That describes half the vendor stuff I have to deal with. Overpriced and
crap at the same time.

Yeah, see, when stuff is really expensive but *good*, the people who
need the quality hand over the money, and the people who don't need it
don't [usually] complain about the price.
What pisses people off is when the software is expensive *and* crap, as

experience, and no SQL. Can you recommend some good web sites for information
and tutorials?

Sure. What are you looking for? Design princiles for a database? SQL
tutorial? And if so, for what DB? Security principles?
