My kids resurrected the game about a years ago. We were playing it like crazy because
of the popularity of the new beetles around town. Luckily, they got tired of playing
and it died out pretty
quickly.

Damn, Wikipedia has a page for it.

They don't have a variant listed that I played.

'Beaver whack! No beaver whack-backs" << <whack!!> >>
Basically the same as 'Woody' listed on the above site.

Yes, thank you, but what I mean is that I don't know of it even though
it may have been around since the '60's.

I've never seen it nor heard of it although I've played many games
travelling in the UK as a kid. Is this game an American travelling game
only?

Similar to "pop" vs. "soda" vs. "coke", you can tell what region someone
is from by what version of referring to VW Beetles they use. XD

bah, popvssoda.com is down...they had a distribution map of the US.

Yup. :-)

I'm an oddball, I grew up in Minnesota, but I call it "soda". In
Chicago, at least my uncle called it "RC".
