WordPress just ATE my reply... :'{
Damn it, and I spent *ages* writing that...
WP-Hashcash Check Failed
Your client has failed to compute the special javascript code required
to comment on this blog. If you believe this to be in error, please
contact the blog administrator, and check for javascript, validation, or
php errors. It is also possible that you are trying to spam this blog.
If you are using Google Web Accelerator, a proxy, or some other caching
system, WP-Hashcash may not let you comment. There are known issues with
caching that are fundamentally insoluble, because the page being written
to you must be generated freshly. Turn off your caching software and
reload the page. If you are using a proxy, commenting should work, but
it is untested.
You have previously failed the check 0 times.

Well, I am as well. I've got a professional blog (only 14 posts in about
as many months), but rarely get comments. But it does get read, so
that's a good thing.

Yah, well, it's not *that* much out of date...
Besides, presumably if they updated it they'd destroy my blog and I'd
have to start again.

I used a level-5 geek-only persuasion spell. It's called "the back
button". (Oddly, it worked...)

Probably enough that the bugs you've listed have been fixed, as I don't
see those on wordpress.com.

No, most of the software packages for stuff like this has an upgrade
process that preserves the existing data. Wikis and blogs particularly.

But do the admins on his web host have a brain big enough to be careful
with the upgrade? ;)
