Is there any way of stopping objects (actually a plane) reflecting the sky?
I'm modelling a night scene with waves reflecting nearby objects and everything
was great until I tried adding a star field as either a sky_sphere or a
background or a faraway plane on the z axis.
Whichever method I choose, the 'stars' in the background are getting reflected;
which isn't what I want.
Any suggestions?

Use the no_reflection flag in your stars object.
