I would like to make a finish that looks like cast metal. It should look
like part of a car or motorbike engine/transmission. Anybody got any
sugestions? Thanks for any help.

well .... if you read the follow up post's you'll see how the cast metal
texture is defined
then it's just a matter of applying the texture to your object. the inital
macros deal with the finish that's applied to the texture ..... pretty basic
stuff.
