Hi Folks,
in the /scenes/qtvr directory of my POV Ray 3.5
distribution (Linux-version) there is an example file
called "qtvrPanorama.pov".
I traced it, everything looks fine. Now I'd like to
turn it into a file suitable for viewing it in QuickTime VR
as a 360 degree panorama.
In the sourcefile it is explained that I should use
a program called "Make QTVR Panorama" to
achieve this.
I searched the Internet and the Apple site, but just
couldn't find it. What I found was the Mac version,
which isn't of any use for me, as I don't own a Mac.
Now, my question is:
Where can I find "Make QTVR Panorama" for
my PC (Windows or Linux version, doesn't matter)?
Thanks a lot in advance,
Anton

There is a PC version of a similar program somewhere on Apple's site. The
program requires QuickTime, so you can only run it under Mac OS or Windows.

To be more precise, Apple distributes it as part of their sample code, just
like the Mac version of it originally was a simple demo program that came
with the QuickTime SDK.
To make the long story short, the download for various demo apps that allow
you to easily create QTVR movies is:
QuickTime/QuickTime_VR/VRMakePano.htm>
Those archives usually contain the executable along with the source code,
but some only contain source code. I checked, and the VRMakePano archive
contains the executable. Of course, as it is only a developer demo app it
isn't exactly well tested and probably will be a bit tricky to use, but
apart from that, it should do the job :-)

Was anybody successful making this work? I am trying to give it a try but
have had no success so far.
Thanks,
Tim

I did it on Windows. If you are interested I can upload qtvrpanorama.mov
somewhere. I have used software from
http://developer.apple.com/samplecode/Sample_Code/QuickTime/QuickTime_VR/VRMakePano.htm
