I'm very new to it.

I found no tutor about how to install it & test it.

My povray is an rpm package.
After I installed it, I know nothing about the next step.

Thank you.

The official distribution of POV-Ray does not come as a rpm package. So what
you have is an unofficial version, which is no problem, but in order to help
you it is essential that you provide a bit more information:
Which version of POV-Ray did you install?
Where did you get the rpm package, that is, with which distribution?

BTW, you find the official version at:
<ftp://ftp.povray.org/pub/povray/Official/Linux/>
<ftp://ftp.povray.org/pub/povray/Official/Linux/povlinux.tgz>
If there, make sure you read:
<ftp://ftp.povray.org/pub/povray/Official/Linux/README>

You should take a look at the documentation. It should be available inside
the directory where povray was installed.

IIRC it's in /usr/local/share/doc/povray-3.4.11

To render a scene, try
povray -i/usr/local/lib/povray-3.4.11/scenes/advanced/chess2.pov -f

-i The input file
-f Don't save the rendered image to disk

If you want to change the size, try e.g. +w800 +h600.

This assumes that you have POV-Ray 3.5 Beta 11 at
ftp://ftp.povray.org/pub/povray/Official/Linux/3.5beta/
