hello,
this is pretty much just a chatty type post. hope thats ok.
i'm trying to get my first image together so i can post it
for everybody to see. i'm doing an indoors-looking-out
a window scene, with visible light rays. as advised, i gave
up on atmospheric media cuz it made everything foggy,
and i just wanted the rays that way. i built meshes that
coincided with the light rays coming in square panes of
glass.
right now i'm fiddling with gilles's grass macro. there's a
big yard outdoors and i'm having some trouble keeping
the grass looking like its growing in rows. its definitely a
"RTFM" scenario... i just took a patch that he had generated
as a sample and i wrote a macro (yeah! me! wrote a
macro! wahoo!) to lay a bunch of patches and even do
some rotation to thicken it and it looks like its in rows like
corn. i staggered the rows but that didn't help. i'm working
on a random staggering now. i would have had far less
trouble if i would have taken the time to sit down and read
his documentation at the very beginning... i'll never learn.
thanks, miker
