It's a shared library, and usually found in /usr/lib
AltaVista shows a number of entries for it.

ver 3.1 is not available for linux yet

Sorry but Povray 3.1 for Linux has not been released yet (when it will be
released? God knows...). Linux users must run version 3.02.
