version 3.1a. Problem is that when I try to install it, I get a message
saying "Insert new disk" and a request to "place installation disk #2 in
the floppy drive". Since I downloaded the program over the net, I have
no idea where I should get this "floppy disk" from.. any suggestions?
Any help would be muchly appreciated,
Freya

On the downloads page there is a warning that this may happen.
The answer to your problem is listed below:
This section contains the same installation as above, but split up into parts.
It will self-install ; all you need to do is run part 1 (which is povwin3.exe),
and it will load parts 2-4. These split files are provided as a service to those
users whose connections have been timing out while trying to get the larger
file.
Note: If your browser attempts to display the part 2-4 files instead of
downloading them, then try shift-clicking on the link instead of clicking.
Note: Some poorly-designed browsers will rename files that are
downloaded, under certain circumstances, without telling you. The setup
program relies on the filenames in the split distribution to find the second and
subsequent parts. If the install program asks you to insert a different floppy
disk, that means that the filenames have been changed (or that it otherwise
can't find povwin3.w02 and later files).
In that case, either provide the full path to the file, or rename them as
they are here. Note that the second letter in 'w02' is a zero (0), not an 'o'.
POV-Ray v3.1a for Windows 95, 98 or NT (4 files in parts).
Part 1 (povwin3.exe, 1440k)
Part 2 (povwin3.w02, 1440k)
Part 3 (povwin3.w03, 1440k)
Part 4 (povwin3.w04, 890k)
