Hello all- I'm brand new to this renderer, so bear with me here-also I'm rendering
from Moray, and this could be something to take up on that group as well, but
perhaps someone here knows: I'm suddenly getting little tiny 10x15 pixel (or so) bits
of my image rendered at odd places in the render window, the rest is black.
It does not seem to matter which camera I use. What have I done?? Thanks in advance.

Are attachments allowed here, by the way?

Hmmm.... This does sound like a moray.windows group question.

If you want to post an example of your .pov source you can either post
the .pov as an attachement in the povray.binaries.scene-files groups
or you can copy/paste your source into the message body and post it
in the povray.text.scene-files group. If you have the source in the
.mdl format it should be posted in moray.binaries.

In any of the above scenarios you should mention where the source is
located so that people can look at it then reply to your original
message. If you would like to post the .pov source for your problem
I would be glad to look at it but it sounds like a Moray related
problem to me and you should probably repost this question in that
group.

Sure seems a video card driver problem to me, but why it would show up
"suddenly" is an odd thing unless you had recently changed some system settings
(like display resolution or color depth) or files or something.
Btw, I would think the *.mdl file might be the thing to post at moray.binaries
for others to be able to compare renders.

I don't know why this would affect only POV-Ray or Moray. I would think
it would effect his whole system if it was just a video driver problem.
I'm guessing the image size is set wrong or the camera is way too far
away from the objects in the scene. New users can be expected to not
totatly understand how all of a scenes elements come together for
a reliable render. I used to lose stuff all the time until I got the
hang of things :)

Hi Pascal. I think I've had this problem before and I pulling my hair out
until I found out why. It sounds like from within Moray at some point you
have selected a region to render. I think Ctrl-Shift and drag in the camera
view will select a region to render. To erase it - I haven't found any other
way - is to press Ctrl-Shift then click once (without dragging) in the
camera view.

THANK YOU! That's it. Glad I checked back while I still have a few hairs left.

Cheers, Pascal
