I was going through my old POV files and came across my Lincoln logs. I thought
I'd clean it up and put it on my web site. And Right off the bat I noticed that
most of my displays use the +z vector as North. I don't know if that is the best
way to go. I'd like some input please! See what you all think. Thanks!!
Have fun!!

appear to work yet. how (where) can one see the code?

That sounds reasonable, given our arbitrary cartographic conventions.
The standard include file sunpos.inc makes the same assumption.

Yes.
My assumption was that you look down on a map, so from +y down. And a map
always has north on the top side. (well now a days with the navigation
systems not a any more (cus users don't know), but in the days I was a
saylor (fishing trawlers), it was)

Indeed, but I came across a factoid somewhere - maybe when looking into this
whole Tartaria business - about how (some/most?) maps used to have South facing
up...

Le Forgeron has mirrored them, as of 2019 April 5, at:
https://github.com/LeForgeron/PovContributions
As far as updates since Le Forgeron's last refresh, I can tell you about
mine. They are not (yet) mirrored anywhere.
Major updates:
AndroidRobot
RC3Metal
RoundEdge
SphereSweep
Minor update:
CoffeeMug
Completely new module:
ScaryCoronavirus
Rafael has also uploaded a couple dozen modules since then. You can
find them (in Spanish) at:
http://freeray.juegosenlazaruscostarricenses.com/
I'm unaware of Leroy's Lincoln logs being in the Collection.

thank you very much for links + info. (may have an use for the (new) Android
when I get back to the WIP)

and thanks for that info too. it was the name "Lincoln Logs" which got me
curious in the first place (am in need of diversion currently/now that I've the
'foreach' off my back :-))

Lincoln Logs is not in the collection yet. I did it few years ago but never
cleaned it up enough to show to the world. The logs themselves are rather
simple to make. But I wanted more than placing each log by hand. So made several
POVs that made walls and I never could select the one to publish.
Have Fun!

Thanks for all the input, that saved me a lot of work or cause me a lot I don't
know yet. The main thing is to be consistent. I'll be using
North,South,East,West for wall object names in my examples on how to use Lincoln
Logs. I still haven't decided on which wall making POV to publish.
Attached is a quick example of what I have.
