Just tried to do a search "row", replace with "R".
Clicking replace all replaced everything with "r".

Not a critical issue at this junction, but that would be big problem if I needed
to edit case-sensitive variable names.

Am I doing something wrong?
I just got done replacing plenty of capital letters with other capital letters.

Assuming you mean you did this in Pov-Ray for Windows,
there is a "Preserve case" checkbox which is defaulted to on. That is 
probably the opposite of what everyone expects.
