I just tried to post a 3Meg file via my news reader which failed but the 2 Meg
file I posted via the web uploaded. At least the web interface said that it did
but it has not appeared after five minutes (about 22:00 Zulu)

The file that I posted last night via the web was there this morning. I
successfully uploaded a 5029 KB file via my newsreader but a 5579 KB file failed
to upload.
You can delete them when you want as they are only test renders.

I think that you've cracked it, Chris.

Among other things, Jim Henderson saw fit to write:

Or, if we use both decimal and binary prefixes
(<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Binary_prefixes>):

1000 KB = 1 MB

but:

976.5625 KiB (kibibytes) = 0.9536... MiB (mebibytes)
