Hi,

I have been lurking around here for some time now, but now that I finally
got a decent Internet connection I decided it's about time for me to take a
bit more active role in this wonderful community and begin writing here
too. These newsgroups have been a source for much education and
entertainment, and having been using POV since 1998 and version 3.0, I hope
that my experience with POV will benefit the community.

I'd like to thank the POV-Team and everyone else who has participated in the
development of POV-Ray 3.5. It's nothing less than a magnificent piece of
software. I have downloaded the sources and have a couple of ideas I'd like
to try to implement (I'm quite familiar with C/C++, I am actually also
developing my own little raytracer as a hobby).

I hope so too :-) Education and entertainment, eh? Sounds something like
PBS television here in the USA.

Good luck with that. Maybe you'll be habiting the povray.programming group
then. I hear it gets technical over there.

If you want to get active, and show off your skills, give the IRTC a try.
