I have PoserPhysics. I could try this out and see how it goes? Otherwise, I
suppose Mechsim should be very appropriate. I have no experience with it
(until now) .

The easiest way is to simply use a free physics engine (there are many
available). Someone else has already done the necessary math.

That would be good if you could. If you can get a simple demo to work
I will probably buy <gulp> it :)

I don't know 0_0

Think of the rake of a stage say about 10 degrees with the staff
dropped from about 6 metres.

Hi Thomas,
I had a coupon that was due to run out so I went ahead and
downloaded Poserphysics. Thanks for the idea it seems to be working
without crashing. Now to build a scene.

Excellent, Stephen!!
Poserphysics works well if you do not ask it too strange settings (an
excessive bouncing value for instance). Otherwise, I think this could answer
your question.

Well I'm familiarising myself with it just now and that might take a
while :)
