Maybe you already know about it, but one guy saved millions of geocities
pages and files and hosted them at http://www.reocities.com.

If you are looking for something that was hosted on geocites, you may try
to find it at reocities. Just change geocities to reocities in the
original web adress (for instance, you can find Chris Colefax include
files at http://www.reocities.com/SiliconValley/Lakes/1434/ ).

Hugo.

I went and found the files from my old GeoCities pages, but the binary
files (.ZIPs for my modeler and POV-Ray macros) are missing. I had
migrated over to a new web host, but it was a freebie one which has
since vanished into a hole in the ground or something.

Regards,
John

Did you check it recently? I just visited it and the modeler files are
missing but the macros files are there.

BTW, I remember visiting your pages a few times in the past. Some nice
things there, I'm glad someone preserved it :)

Regards,
Hugo.

What was the page, John? I backed up a whole bunch of POV-Ray stuff from
geocities, but since it isn't mine to license or redistribute I wasn't
about to put it up some place else. But if it is yours, I suppose
returning a copy would be the polite thing to offer. ;-)

Thanks, but I don't need a copy; I keep a copy of the whole site on my
hard drive (including past versions of the modeler.) I generated all of
the content on the pages, so the data flow was all one way.

Regards,
John

Ahh, I read 'binaries are missing' as something else entirely.

Thanks for this link; I've changed all the URL's from the POV links
collection that used to refer to geocities to now point at reocities.

I also looked at the Wiki and believe I found all those links as well.
