I have just released MegaPOVPlus 0.5a mod 0.3, an unofficial version
based on MegaPOV.
A Mac application, generic source code, and documentation are available
on my page, a Windows and Linux version may follow soon, and I am
working on demo scenes. This version includes both my #set patch and the
glow effect patch.

*Ouch!* indeed...POV-Ray Windows under SoftWindows ran at about 40% of
the speed of POV-Ray Mac. It was tolerable when doing simple scenes with
photons, though.

What do you expect? :-)
My development software actually *does* have the capability to compile
Windows software, the problem is in me. I never managed to get the
number of errors below a couple hundred, and testing would be a severe
problem, since I no longer have SoftWindows installed.
I do hope to have a Windows compile in a couple days, though. And you
could always compile your own... ;-)

Only when having a suitable compiler. I did not yet have any luck compiling a
windows executable of Povray with any free compiler. I would really appreciate
some help from anyone who had sucess doing this.

I truly appreciate your efforts, Chris. You are far ahead of me. I gave up
on compilers a long time ago. I believe I should buy a product and get
lifetime upgrades. Compiler companies disagree, so I don't use 'em. :)
I've got DJGPP, but never use it much. Heh, I still use IBM MacroAssembler
v.1.0! :D

If anyone downloaded the new versions from my page, they may have gotten
the old ones by mistake. There seems to be a problem with replacing
files with updated ones that have the same name...accessing the updated
files gives you the older ones instead. I suspect the problem is that
some ISP's cache files from other pages, and haven't updated them yet.
The updated files *do* exist, and a simple name change allows the
correct ones to be accessed. I just finished doing that name change, and
will try to remember to do this in future updates.
Also, I fixed a small problem in the vturbulence() patch caused by my
turbulence scale patch. The correction(1 line) didn't seem enough to
warrant a version number increase, especially since it seems unlikely
anyone actually got the correct files before now.

Hi Chris.
I downloaded the new version from your page. But I found nowhere how to
invoke the glow feature. (I took a look to the Read Me document) ??
Regards, Alberto.
