Where can I get a web page with space for my images and DON'T SAY
GEOCITIES! Preferably without little popup ads and crap. I know it'll
need some kind of ad if it's free, but where can I get good space with
just a banner ad instead of a pop-up window and/or a stupid logo that
moves when you scroll the page?

I don't know what banner/popup schemes they are using nowadays, but you
could check out:

Xoom and Tripod drive me crazy with their popups (as do some Geocities sites),
Fortunecity seems fine. If you're in Europe you could try YI
(http://www.yi.com).

Wha is the problem, exactly, with Xoom? What kind of license?
If you want space, xoom is perfect. I think they allow unlimited space
usage! The ad is a frame (top 50 pixels) whick is quite ugly, but you've got
lots of lots of space to ramble about with.

http://free.prohosting.com . no popups, no ads, just pure, clean
webspace. Their gimmick is they hope you'll tell your friends and/or
buy their higher-end offerings if you like their service enough.

I recommend (and use) Homestead; it has a small banner at the bottom of the
page. Beware of their Java-based page builder, though--it's temptingly easy
to use, but pages built with it don't display on WebTV and can look funny if
not previewed before posting. 12 megs per site and you can have as many
sites as you want.

The problem is that last time I checked, by posting your content there you
grant them a perpetual, non-revokable, sub-licensable, etc. right to whatever
you post.
i.e. if they decide to take all your images and sell them on a CD, they can. If
they want to sell your images to book publishers, they can, etc.
