Actually, I am doing just that. The EASIEST way to do it, so far as I
have found, is a plane -> box intersection, making the piece with writing
flat, and the text image_map'ed onto it. If you want the edges to curl up
or down, then simply create a bezier patch and attqache it to the margin(s)
of the flat parchment. But then, that's just how I did it. There may be a
better way. =) There's ALWAYS a better way to do something in POV-Ray.

If you're looking for U/V mapping (where the image follows the bezier patch as
it's stretched), go to

This unofficial version of POV has a limited ability to do U/V mapping of
bezier patches.  I know about it 'cause I programmed it... I also know that
it's a bit
buggy and quite limited, but it does work.
