I am curious to know if anyone has tried yet to run povray on a massively
parallel architecture processor such as the Intel Xeon Phi, with anywhere from
40 to 72 processors.

Two years ago, I've run pov 3.7 on a Cray computer with
12 Xeon quad core. Work very very very very fast :)

Version 3.7 is designed to use up to 256 cores on any number of actual
CPUs. So, there should be no problem in this case.

I haven't tried that many or that specific processor but it is quite fast
on my Hexacore Xeon, and it hits all the cores of course. 24gb matched ram
helps.
