Hi Stephen

the sinc function (sin(r)/r) gives good ripples (where r=sqrt(x^2+y^2)) - it
pops up often in physics esp where waves are concerned and is nice and simple
too :)

I had not heard of the sinc function and will bear it in mind for future 
use.
