Project Messiah is currently offering Messiah Studio 5 for $10 (and the Pro version
for $40) for a limited time (until 
they reach their goal). After that, the prices go back to $499 and $1195. Note that
you pay now but don't get your 
license info until the goal is met, although they're pretty close (>90%) at this
point.

As far as I can tell, it "Lets you save the current object in one of five formats" but
they only mention .fbx files on 
their specs page; Autodesk has a C++ SDK available for reading and writing .fbx files,
so maybe this format could be 
added to Poseray.
