Pythagorean theorem, AE and AG are known, find EG.
f = AC - EG
Or so I think :-)

AG is not known however. Anyway I found a better alternative so I don't
need a solution any more.

What tools are you allowed to use ?
EG²+AE² = AG² = AB²
ergo EG² = 1.2² - 0.8² = 36/25 - 16/25 = 20/25
EG = sqrt(20)/5
FG + EG = FE = AC = AB = 1.2
FG = (6-2*sqrt(5))/5 = 2/5 * (3 - sqrt(5))

As I said, I chose an alternative (actually better) method, so I no
