Long time ago, I used DKB for my GEMINI house project
http://live.pege.org/1992/
And just right now, I prepare for my next project.
It will have thinfilm amorphus silicone cells as roof
http://live.pege.org/2008-intersolar/photovoltaic-factories.htm
and
http://live.pege.org/2008-intersolar/photovoltaic-production.htm
This are 2 big glass plates with the photovoltaic between.
After so long pause, I am out of training with all the texture parameters.
Please make suggestions to simulate this photovoltaic modules
best regards

a simple texture: very dark blue/violet diffuse, reflection going from
white (the glass pane) to b/v tinted (the silicon layer), perhaps
Fresnel fallof.
If viewed from close enough overlay with a grid texture or two.
Don't forget the frame(s).

Actually silicone is a rubber-like material used in construction for
insulation and other uses.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silicone
Silicon is a chemical element.

In french, it much easier to differenciate the two :)
The element is named "silicium"
And the silicon oils, resins and rubbers are named "silicone", similat to english.
