I wonder if it might be appropriate for the reborn IRTC to start off
with a "TINA CHeP" topic...?

A good idea.

wooHoo! :-D

Interesting choice of seaside and smalltalk. I will have to look into those,
and maybe give them a try on my Ubuntu box.
The use of the Seaside framework is much more in the spirit of PovRay than
the .NET framework too, IMO. Good choice.

I am glad to see the IRTC coming back, cheers all around!

If Seaside is not a Microsoft product, then it is more in the spirit of
POV-Ray than .NET, by virtue of that fact alone.

Okay, since nobody else has said it yet, and because I believe it
certainly is fitting in this circumstance, I'll get it out of the way:

      "W00T!!!"

:)

Only one suggestion: might we see the return of the IRTC CD
compilations? I have years one through five (1996 - 2001), and would
love to buy more to aid the effort, but I never saw another one after
Year Five.

their toes :-) So I jgladly oin the thanks.
And I have said it elsewhere, I shall be sad to see the TC-RTC disappear....

In my discussions with Chris Cason, one of the issues he wanted resolved
was an easier way to produce the IRTC CD's. The new site is being
designed to make that process easier. I expect, therefore, that the
IRTC CD's will re-start once we get going.

Heck, yes, good one. <Steve looks for TINA's red rose again> ;)

As David pointed out, making the CD's was difficult - I guess primarily
because I didn't want to just dump the data onto the CD. I wanted to try to
identify the same entrant across all rounds and years (this was more
difficult than it sounds) so as to maintain a list of entries and results,
and I wanted to re-format the text entry files into HTML (again, more
difficult than it sounds, especially with the changes made to the files by
the IRTC submission system - stripping high characters, re-wrapping the
text, and so forth). In the end I just couldn't justify the time.
