Does Pov read a font as a spline shape with nodes? Is there any way of 
making the co-ordinates of nodes available to the SDL?

I'm not sure of the inner workings, but I think it's equivalent to
a prism. There is no way to get the direct font data out via
POV currently.

There are font editing programs that can directly manipulate
the data though.
