Is there a way to use a parametric as a media density? Trying to make a
curvey type funnel.

No. Think about what a density pattern *is*: it defines a density value
over 3D space. Parametric shapes take parameters within a certain range
and translate them into points on a surface. Implicit functions, such as
those used by the isosurface shape, define the surface as all points
where a function is equal to some value. The value of the function is
defined at (nearly) all points, and can easily be used directly as a
density value or to determine whether a point is inside an isosurface.

You could use parametric functions to generate a density file, and in
some cases you could convert the parametrics into implicit form, but as
a general rule, the idea of using parametrics as media densities just
doesn't make sense.
