Time For Trace:    0 hours -5 minutes -4294967347.0 seconds (-356 seconds)
    Total Time:    0 hours -5 minutes -4294967351.0 seconds (-355 seconds)

I was a little stunned when my rendered finished before I started it, anyone
have any ideas y this happened?

Don't know why, but would sure like to be able to do it reliably!  Then I
could actually finish my IRTC entries for a change ;-)

You didn't by any chance change your system clock while rendering, did you?

BTW this should not really have an effect - it is common to adjust the
system clock regularly to sync with an ntp time server and it would not be
good if this would make time measurements impossible.

Well, as no system specs were given, i am left guessing.  For all I know it
could be an unofficial compile...

I was not referring to the original post, i simply wanted to note that if
the time recording code on any platform depends on the system clock not
being changed this is not such a good idea.
