You can find answer at http://news.povray.org/3c4837d7%40news.povray.org

I had problem with this letter. I spend half of evening thinking how to decrease
from 500 to 495 :-)

I don't understand why the entries should not be made to look good with
all the *default* settings of povray.

I made my one to look good with the default settings, that's why I asked.
If he was going to render them with assumed_gamma 1 I would have to use
ambient 0
because the ambient light then becomes visible and I don't have enough space
left to do that.

I spend half of afternoon to decrease from 498 to 486 and spend the other
half of the afternoon to add something without going over 500 again ;-)

There is no default assumed_gamma in pov as stated in 6.11.3.
I'm poor in this subject but I remember from p.b.i there are some cases when
images from mac are "darker". Is this somehow related ? I'm not sure what
platform will be used in this contest.

I created an OK image, then added assumed_gamma of 1 and it looked
ugly. I now have a version that looks good with gamma 1, but I'd like
to know which one to send in.

If this is going to be a regular contest I think that the timeframe should
be something like two weeks.
