Hi all,
I did this once but I forgot how. The IRTC deadline is near and I may
have to trace with two computers. How can I trace on the second
computer from the bottom up. When the two images meet, I am done and
just have to stitch them together.

Thanks in advance,
Bob

Do you want the INI file options Start_Row and End_Row?
Documentation: "3.2.2.1.2 Partial Output Options"

It must not have been in POV-Ray then. It would see any start row as the
beginning and move to any next higher row number not lower.
Just end the top section at halfway point and start the lower section at the
same halfway point. Unless it has radiosity it will be stitchable together.

Of course thsi will not work. You have to work like this 8assuming your
image as 240 lines)

Start_Row=1 End_Row=121
Start_Row=119 End_Row=240

The put the image together in any image editor. However, you can't use
radiosity this way. However, the slightly overlapping parts, it
assembled between line 120 and 121 should still work in most cases...

This may not help, but how field rendering. It renders every other line. I
use that for trial renders.

Why do you suggest overlapping a few lines?

Exactly. While it probably doesn't give perfect results, the difference
should be hardly visisble, if at all depends on the scene, of course.

I'm pretty sure I did this, but it looks like I will have enough time to
trace
with just one PC. It should be done in about 21 more hours. What I think
I
did before was to trace the second image up side down, or rotated 180
degrees. By doing it this way there is no problem determining how many
lines
the faster machine should to. When the two images meet, you are done.

Like I said, I think I did this. I would be interested to see if anyone
can
figure out how to do it for future use. Unless I get a crash and need it
now.

Thanks for the suggestions,
Bob

I think all you have to do is turn the camera upside down before you
render. How to do that is left as an exercise for the reader, of course.

My opinions. Mine. Not anyone else's.
