I've been trying to construct a realistic smoke trail for an object in a
static scene. I know smokegen was designed primarily for animations but I
thought I could adapt it.
Turns out that the version of smokegen on the website still uses halo and
several other 3.1 incompatibles.
Anyone know if there is an updated version or another include that might
serve my purpose?
Thanks in advance

What website? You have probably found an old version backed up by someone
else, as the current version _requires_ POV v3.1 in order to work. (It uses
file I/O, macros and media, and those features were not introduced until
3.1).
You can find the current version on this URL:

Thanks Arch!
Now I just get to figure out how to create a static smoke stream with it ;)
