I think it is anyway. We're doing calculus of several variables at the
minute, and our lecturer showed us a low-res wireframe hf of this
function to demonstrate stationary points (including saddles)

function{ cos(x)*cos(z)*exp(-sqrt(x*x+z*z)/2)-y }

Here is a complete scene to show the function:

camera { location 10 look_at 0 angle 35 }
light_source { <5,10,-10>, 1 }
isosurface
{ function{ cos(x)*cos(z)*exp(-sqrt(x*x+z*z)/2)-y }
  contained_by { box { -<10,1,10><10,1,10> } }
  max_gradient 1.187
  pigment { rgb x } finish { specular .5 }
  rotate x*180
}

#macro N(D)#if(D>99)cylinder{M()#local D=div(D,104);M().5,2pigment{rgb M()}}
N(D)#end#end#macro M()<mod(D,13)-6mod(div(D,13)8)-3,10>#end blob{
N(11117333955)N(4254934330)N(3900569407)N(7382340)N(3358)N(970)}//  - Warp -

Oops, that reminds me; I meant to render the thin gwhen I got home last
night. Ah well, I'll do it later. Don't even have to write the scene
now... ;)
