I've got two co-workers into it. They are computer geeks anyway
so it was a natural transition for them. They spend all day at
the computer using professsional cad programs. Now their wives
are bitching that they are on the computer all night doing 3D
graphics with POV-Ray.
*evil laughter*

So, my wife isn't the only one. :)

Now if we could get the wives addicted as well, that would help. But then again,
if there's only one computer in the house that would be another problem.

Run it under Linux and give her a 'cheap' machine to access it from.

Actually, I guess I'm in a lucky minority.
I was working on an IRTC entry recently, and my wife noted that
it was taking significant time for test renders. She looked at
the rendering in process, then at me, and said "you know, you
really need more processing power, don't you?"
I thought I'd faint.

I had a similar experience and know the feeling. Alas, I failed to take the
appropriate measures in a timely fashion and when I reminded her of her words
recently, she gave me mean looks. :(
GO! Order it now.

Sigh... can't. We made a deal that I'd carry out my New Year's
resolution and work off some extra flab first. I get to order
a new motherboard when I hit 199 pounds. How's that for
motivation??
Excuse me, gotta go.. I hear the treadmill calling.

oh that's sad...
my experience:
YKYBRTTLW: You drive by the bank at night and look in through the
open windows at all the glowing screens in there and think,
"Ohh... those poor little guys in there never get to draw any
pictures or excercise their FPP's." And you're obviously
thinking about the computers, not the people!
