I have heard of the Berkeley one, but it seems to be for parallel and
none for Windows.

Good freeware mpeg encoders other than cmpeg?

For parallel? Berkeley permits parallel but does not require it.

Cmpeg is fine for Windows. A bit slow but that may be attributable to
Windows rather than the algorithm.

Exactly what do you are you looking for?

There's also AVI2MPG, if you don't mind creating uncompressed AVIs of your
animations.

  Slow?
My empirical tests show that mpeg_encode is about 5-10 times faster, or
even more, than cmpeg.
Never tried it under windows, though...

VideoMach is a video editor which outputs in many formats, mpeg included,
and I believe is free for non-commercial use. www.gromada.com

	Cmpeg slow for windows.

I have not exactly compared the two but that feels about right.
