I think that POV needs to make a BeOS version of POV-Ray. BeOS supports
high modes of graphics that no other OS does. Neither Windows, Linux, or
OS/2 can make full use of my high-resolution printer. They give you the
"source" of POV for several operating systems, but most of them have
OS-specific files and libraries, so I can't compile my own. Anyone
interested in helping me develop a BeOS unofficial version, send me an
email.
If anyone knows where to send requests to POV, PLEASE tell me.
Thanks,
Guy M. Broome

Various unofficial versions currently exist for BeOS. There's an
official version of 3.1g in the works at the moment. Beta testing (yes,
it's that far through the works) has turned up a couple of minor issues
that I hope to get to fairly soon, but 3.5 has at the top of my priority
list currently, so it's not been going anywhere lately.
Guy: feel free to send requests to me.

I seriously doubt it but I have no direct knowledge one way of
another.

Changing POV to be multithreaded would require major modifications,
almost a complete rewrite. This is one reason the POV Team plans to
rewrite POV for version 4.
