Apparently it isn't going to be in N.Y. according to Mark Gordon :-)

Thankyou Mark, I wasn't sure about it at all. I only noticed someone listed
under a SIGGRAPH 2001 line there at the 2000 web site apparently a committee
member maybe located in New York.

I was seriously considering going this year, but I'm very busy this
summer... I just don't think I can make the time. :-( Also, nobody who I
know with here in Florida is going, and I'd rather not take a vacation
alone.

There is one confirmed POVer very near New Orleans, LA who just this week
turned up on the world of povray users map.
I have been invited to go along on a flight to Seattle, WA to visit relatives
along with my parents in the first week of August. The SIGGRAPH $40 admission
ticket deadline has passed even though I'm not certain about going to Seattle
yet. I really, really, really hate flying in planes, or being in any other
thing I'm not at the controls of for that matter. I like amusement rides that
have wheels or levers or something in them to manipulate the things with.
Sorry, I'm going OT here... as I think about the prospect of once again being
in a jet airliner.

I will be there (I managed to place my vacation such that it fits<g>)
and I know of two others that will be there (they haven't posted, so
I'll leave it to them). Make sure you leave a message on the message
boards under the letter P marked "POV users", maybe someone will see
it. Many raytracing enthusiast meet at the Raytracing Roundtable (a
Birds-Of-a-Feather meeting).
