I'm sure he won't mind. If I put source code out there for others to use, I
would expect them to modify it. All one wants is to be credited. I too
modified Gilles' macro to support trace. That's how I did my grass images
with the fireflies some time ago.

Feel free to do so. Actually, the use of eval_pigment is much better than the
current random system for many purposes. If this feature is officially supported
in POV 3.5, I'll probably update some of my macros to work with it.
