I've just been playing with Mike Andrews cloud code on my new 800mhz
celeron.

    Mike Andrews time to render(as best I can remember) 26 hrs
    A varient by Nathan Kopp 14 hrs(on a 266)
    My version using the Mega patch and method 3 for media, 52 mins... yes
52 mins!!!

I seem to remember it took a full weekend, ~60hrs, to render on my old
166MHz Pentium. I must dig out the code and see how it does with my
523MHz (overclocked) Celeron ...

This is really fine! It sounds like my old method will be quite usable
within the next couple of computer-generations :-)

I'm still trying various methods to get good clouds and atmosphere. Who
knows, maybe I'll actually get a scene done to enter the current IRTC
round.
