Installing SuSE Linux today I noticed one of the packages was POVRay,
how cool.

I fear that I must disappoint you. They still had the 3.0 version on the
6.3 distribution. I contacted them here in Germany and they send me a
reply that the next distribution will contain 3.1.

I noticed, as with alot of packages in most Linux distributions there
are many out of date apps. If it gets people working with Povray though
it can only be a good thing, I wouldn't have discovered it had it not
been served to me on a golden platter (version 1 on a PC Format
coverdisk, and then then again with version 2 (is Future publishing
still a dirty word?))

Graham.
