I would also like to know if this is a good program to invest in.  How
is the rendering, the learning curve etc?  How does it compare say to
Truespace or the metacreation 3d program?  Would anyone recommend it?

I recently bought AM and I think it is fantastic. Next to
POV-Ray it is the best value for your graphics dollar :-)
I also e-mailed the people at Hash, Inc. and suggested
that *they* update sPatch, because it is a good introduction
to their product for POV-Ray users. Not that any of us would
ever stop using the greatest program of all time (POV-Ray)
but an update of sPatch would be great too!
