Hi all.
My 8 yo daughter has volunteered me to show her class at school, how
computer graphics are done, using Pov-Ray. I have managed to get hold
of a reasonably fast laptop to do the work.
I have collected a number of your images that I will present in a
slide show to give them an idea of the capabilities of Pov-Ray and give
them the opportunity to try it themselves.
One idea I had, was of showing them some of the animations that were
created using Pov-Ray, and I have downloaded a few from the competition
area.
But rather than presenting each animation separately, (having to
load and reload each animation), is there a way I can combine, say 5
separate mpeg files, into one single file ready for showing.
Your help will be greately appreciated.
Alex.

Found this just now: http://www.cdrom.com/pub/mng/mng.html
a multiple image/animation file format apparently. I know nothing about it,
just pointing it out here.
I could only suggest using a player which will list the animations and play
in sequence. I know ATI has one for it's Mach video cards, MS Media Player
6.4 obviously does not do this. Display (DOS-based, can be found in Kens
links) can do it with compatible Mpeg files.
Seeing as how the multiple Mpeg would require recompression they would no
doubt be a mess.

Don't think it's possible. As an alternative you could try
IrfanView. http://stud1.tuwien.ac.at/~e9227474/
It can show all animations in a directory as if it were a slide
show.

On the POV site under ..and more.. I found this tonight. I have
not tried it. I am after scene patching before a final seamless
render.

MPEG Scissors v1.2
This program is freeware.
This program is not free of errors.
It is in permanent improvement based on yours feedback (e-mail).
When we find a serious documentation on MPEG-1 format, we could
to improve this program more efficiently.
At this time you still encounter few problems if you have
installed in system older multimedia players programs like
"Active Movie" ...
We recommend to use "XING MPEG Player" or "Windows Media Player
v6.4" !
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Description :
This Program was created for easy editing MPEG Files. It make
easy to CUT and JOIN multiple files.
If You select [StartFrame] and [EndFrame] for every Job (file),
when process is done, you obtain a single file with all
selections included.
Ex. :
[Header][Start1..Stop1][Start2..Stop2][Start3..Stop3][Start4..Stop4]...
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Requirements:
P75 Mhz PC, 16 MB RAM, 1 MB free disk space
Windows 32 operating System (Win 95 / 98 / NT / 2000)
800 x 600 screen resolution / 256 colors
Recomanded to use :
Windows Media Player version more than 6.0
or
Xing MPEG Player
( already installed in Your system )
=======
Myself I would be more concerned with how it is going to go over
at 320x280 with a crowd around or how bad they are going to look
if the whole class can watch at one time. The quality differences
between Toy Story / Small Soldiers are unlike to impress them
without a cute story line.
The point is to interest them, not to turn them off.
