this may seem simple but this is a general forum, how do i post an
image?i want to place my image(s) in yhe text window w/ out placing an
attachment?? how is yhis done //??// i use netscape 3 !!!

 Before I give details let me say that here in the Pov news groups we
prefer that when you post an image in the povray.binaries.images group
that you do attach it instead of inserting it into the message body.
The reason for this is because inserting requires you to use html
encoding and some of the news reading programs have difficulties with
this format.
 If you insist on inserting it into the message body you have to have
Netscape composer set up for html mode. When in the composer window you
should now be able to choose the insert file/image function and in this
case you would choose the image you wish to insert which will bring up
a dialog about were you want it aligned, image size, plus some other
options that I have never used. It is pretty self explanitory once you
set Netscape to not use plain text mode.

It's also worth noting that most browsers will automatically show attached
images after the text, and multiple attachments will be shown one after the
other.  So it's really the best way to go about posting images.
