Is there some way to avoid the blank screen between animation frames?
I would like to have the next image simply overwrite the last one line by
line.

That would be cool, but since the POV team would probably place a low value
on the necessity of that feature, even if it's possible, then if it happens
at all it will probably come from a patch.

Just yesterday I was thinking the same thing, mostly because I was doing test
renders and wanted to see the transition from old to new.  Someone would have
to make a patch to do it.

This is exactly what happens in the xwin-version of povray. It shouldn't
be difficult to achieve in the windows version.

  It's just the official xwin version.
  Perhaps they "forgot" to add the clearing code. I think it's very handy
to see how the image changes from frame to frame.
