I'm a big fan of Volume rendering, but none of the programs I've tried
so far worked properly (Volvis - for example doesn't work at all, and
Volpack is monochrome).

I know that "media" in Povray does not allow to apply textures on it,
niether height_field tracing is a correct volume rendering

So, when Povray will support volume rendering, or where to find some
info/ideas to implement it ?

thanks in advance
Minitek

If you can live with an unofficial version, try the SuperPatch (you
are using Windows 98 so you won't need to compile it.) It features
isosurfaces which can be used to model volumetric data, esp. via the
pigment isosurface functions and the .df3 pattern (I should guess
df3's are implemented).

If this is not you're looking for, too bad, but hey, POV is a
wonderful program anyway! :)
