Ive been working on a project in POV-RAY lately and have come across a
bit of a bind trying to do barbed-wire... is there anyways to make a
torus a spring or any sort of spring like oject with triangles? Any
help would be appreciated.

I contributed a barbed wire object to Micha Reiser's Object Repository
a while ago. It may be what you need. The Repository moved, and I
don't have the current address at hand. Ken, God of Links, can
probably tell you where it is.

There is at least one barbed wire that comes with the example
scenes. As for the torus, the raw math could do it but not in
POV. But you can run macro objects around a center point like a
do it yourself lathe. So with say a sphere going around a center
in say x-y, increase the z value as it goes around.
