Let me go back to my original need and clarify:
My typical data is 8 bit, and files can be large.
Typical problem:
85   88   87   90   92
85  256  88   92   93
85  256 256  95   96
86   87   89   93   95
Where the 256 represents a hole in the data.
The data could of course be represented just as easily by a data list
A 2 dimensional Bezier fill would be a very nice feature
