Has anyone noticed that 3.1g for unix and mac is out? The windows and
ms-dos versions can't be far off.

It is my impression that this version change applies ONLY to the Unix
build of the program and will not contain any changes for the Dos, Mac,
or Windows versions.

From Mark Gordon:

New features:
- make install (run as root for best results)
- install script for everything else (run as root for best results)
- htm2html: Perl script to make the html docs more Unix-friendly

Fixes:
- assorted makefile problems fixed
- minor typo in man page fixed
- Linux binaries are stripped
- assorted bug fixes not specific to Unix (see revision.doc)
- updated documentation

  These two allegations are conflicting.

Oooooops !

I missed the one line from Mark Gordons announcement which read:

I was wrong and I apologize for any confusion my reply may have caused
anyone. There a some cross platform bug fixes addressed in the Povray v3.1g.
