When I move, for instance, a box towards a height field, there is a point
where the box visually disappears inside the height field. We could call
this the 'crash' point.
This location can be very hard to calculate with irregular objects, but
given the optimal view-point it is very easy to see.
Is there any way in which I can get system feedback when a portion of the
'box' is obscured?

This is currently only possible using the "trace" function of the
superpatch, afaik.
