I need to compare render times across different processors.
Unfortunatily I do not have access to any Intel processors.
I would be grateful if anybody could find times to process
the following:

        Site: ftp.icnet.uk
        Login: ftp
        password: email address
        directory: /pub/bmm/tmp
        files: test.ray and test.ray.par
(file size is 327k and the include file 51k)
        command: povray +Itest.ray +W1200 +H1200

and let me know the render time (Parse + Trace + Total)
and system being used.
Thanks
p.s. Trace time on a Silicon Graphics MIPS R10000, 195MHz
was 22 seconds.

I have noticed that you should post some other parameters like
antialising(on/off), jitter(on/off),...as the results vary depending on
the settings.

Just to add another result:

Smallest Alloc: 12 bytes Largest: 24028
Peak memory used: 1107472 bytes

Time For Trace: 0 hours 0 minutes 13.0 seconds (13 seconds)

Are you sure you used the right settings (1200X1200)? I don't think Linux is
THAT fast...

Just some data from a
UltraSPARC-II, 296 MHz, 640MB RAM

Smallest Alloc: 12 bytes Largest: 24028
Peak memory used: 1218068 bytes

Time For Parse: 0 hours 0 minutes 1.0 seconds (1 seconds)
Time For Trace: 0 hours 1 minutes 3.0 seconds (63 seconds)
Total Time: 0 hours 1 minutes 4.0 seconds (64 seconds)

Of course I don't know why povray doesn't that beast working. Even on a 2
processor machine a idle of 80% is too much.
(Should I try the huge one? :-)
I will...

Yep...it is...although if I set antialising and jitter to on...it takes
about 30 seconds...but he hasn't stated how to set them and these
settings are not needed here...
